A Lifelong Passion for Dentistry
For Dr. David Silverstrom, dentistry has always been much more than a way to earn a living. As his three decades in the profession attest, dentistry is a lifelong passion which he still approaches with the same zeal and energy that he brought to the profession in the first place.
In order to stay up to date with the latest techniques, Dr. Silverstrom remains a big believer in continuing education. Not only did Dr. Silverstrom receive his initial training at the New York University College of Dentistry, but he also shares his acquired knowledge by returning to his alma mater to serve as an instructor of cosmetic dentistry. By adapting his practice to the latest technology, Dr. Silverstrom constantly improves the overall dental experience. As one of the top dentists in New Jersey, his full-service practice is committed to giving patients the most relaxing, pain-free dental experience possible.
An Enthusiastic Advocate for His Community
Throughout his professional career, Dr. Silverstrom has always believed that giving back to his local community goes hand in hand with success. As a result, his numerous philanthropic efforts include volunteer work, charitable donations and even starting his own program.
For instance, he is one of the founders of the New Jersey Makeover Team, which provides aesthetic medicine such as smile enhancements and skin treatments to underserved residents of the state.
Dr. Silverstrom also lends his support to the Essex County Mental Health Association, an organization he has supported for over a decade. After joining their board of directors, he served as their gala chair and currently serves as vice-president. He also endows three Livingston High School Scholarship Awards, which are given out annually to deserving seniors.
One of Dr. Silverstrom’s proudest philanthropic efforts is the creation of the Smiles for Life Award. Together with his son Gary, David partnered with the American Cancer Society in 2014 to restore the mouths of cancer survivors. Through their charity, they donate a $25,000 cosmetic makeover to one cancer survivor every year. By documenting this process, they both celebrate the curative power of a smile makeover and honor cancer survivors.
Additional organizations that have benefited from Dr. Silverstrom’s largess include Millburn Rocks Education Foundation, the Livingston Youth Alliance, and Ed Randall’s Bat for the Cure for Prostate Cancer. Indeed, Dr. Silverstrom has been recognized by the mayor of Livingston and has also received the Community Service Award for his continued service and his outstanding track record. His dedication to bettering the lives of others within the community is matched only by his enthusiasm for his craft and his interest in the well-being of his patients.
